Lets face it...you cant. Im a roman catholic and ki learning is perfectly fine (allowed). Remember 100 years ago is was PROVEN that the physics of the earth disallowed us from going into outer space. What could generate enough energy to escape the atmosphere? Now we do it everyday. Just keep in mind anythings possible, while there is no evidence of somethings exsistince does not necessarily mean it doesnt exsist. You cant expect it jump out at you either, science has solved many problems, but just left us with more in the end. The question still remains of our exsistince...Why?

In my mind Ki is a form of religion so being that, to practice it would be practicing 2 religions Christianity and Ki. God Stricktly forbids the use of false gods and idols. So it goes against my religion.
My proof of God being real is that I'm alive ur alive and everyother Thing from the tiniest pebble to the largest rock. They all got here some how and that could only be from a Perfect Being= God. And since ur gonna say somthin about the "Big Bang" what created those atoms or molocules that started the big bang (if u believe in the big bang, I dont). If you want me to start preachin...(BTW you dont want me to do that). The fact is that there is more evidence of a God then of Ki. The poll is in my favor. Plus Bruce Lee DOES NOT USE KI. Did you you see how fit that guy is? He's strong and has been using Kung-fu or what ever martial arts he uses all his life before he died he was a master at what he did no Ki was EVER used.

Ki is no religion, it's simply a form of martial arts, And, there is no 'god' you have to worship to have ki, believe it or not, you have ki inside you. Ki is basically what keeps you alive, the word ki means 'Life Energy' in which supports your body and keeps it stable enough to survive. By saying "It's against my religion to practice ki" is basically saying "It's against my religion to live"

and Hibiki God does not come down every Sunday and "Force" use to worship because what would be the point of a fake love? God wants you to make the choice to follow him. Not someone or somthing making it for you. You make the choice. Hibiki what might u believe in if u dont believe in God or Ki. how come you left out a bunch of stuff about ki? Ki is a life energy in your deffiniton. So was the "Tree of Life" In the garden of Eden it wasnt life energy but (I dont know enough about the bible...). If we have Ki why dont we live forever? If its constantly replensihing us? How do you know those movies that you say are training tapes arn't just special effects? You would have to place large faith in Ki. For it to be real. If its just a martial arts then how does it grant "powers" in ur deffinition?

I believe humans were put on this earth at first for felloship with with God for all eternity. But Adam and Eve broke that bond by eating the forbiddion fruit. Ever since then humans have been tested by God. To see how much faith they have. And when Christ returns we will be tested to see who the faithful are. Then Satan will be Chained again for 1000 years. During that 1000 years. Its just going to be God and the Humans on Earth the way it was ment to be in the begining of time. Then God will release Satan again for a final test to see weither or not Humans are trully faithfull. IN conclusion I would like to say that were on this earth to have our faith tested.

God gave us many things, unfortunately adam and eve stabbed god in the back. Yes, god says never to worship other gods or idols of gods. Which now we must review...What is KI? A religion or something studied like science?

Well, Ki is studied, sensed and used by some people. god always said we had power within us, spiritual or otherwise. Why would this make it impossible to have ki? Now, he said dont worship idols. Ki isnt an idol, its something that exsists that stands for nothing except life. My teacher said that the misistry is neutral on ki, if u study it, fine, if not, your loss. They dont care if you do basically.

Um, about the god thing testing us, he tests us every day in this life, and Ki has absolutely nothing to do with it. Um, if you feel different, then so be it. And no you wont study Ki or the force at church, they have nothing to do with it. Just like science, math, and biology. You learn them elsewhere, and the church doesnt care if you take them or not. All they ask is you do what god says and behave. Ki isnt an idol, its energy of life and of the body. Lots of different religions study it (outside of religion), with no "idol" laws. IF you werent allowed studying anything other than god, you wouldnt leave the house, watch dragonball z, or do other things you do everyday. They wouldnt want you worshiping Vegeta now would they?

Excuse me, but what gaps did I leave in my explanation of ki?

It is an energy that flows through us. All of us have it. Average Joe Schmoe has it in him, so do you. To use it is not expressly forbidden in the bible, it, infact is never mentioned. I am very religeous, but I do not allow the bible to fill in blanks that it never speaks of. Unlike you, I know the bible very well. The vast number of people who practice ki sharpening techniques that I know are Christian. There is no religeon in ki, no ki in religeon. You are comparing automobiles and digital alarm clocks there. Bruce Lee practices a style called Wing Chung, (his first martial art before you go and tell me Jeet Kune Do) a very ki intensive style at the higher echelons, of which he is obviously part. His infamous one inch punch is a ki move, It can't be done properly without it, I've seen people try.

So how in the hell do you justify calling the practice of ki a religeon? I don't see it not even in the least. It is a belief, but I believe that my car is fast too. Does that make me a Satanist? For that matter, should we phone the Pope and ask him to start a Martial Arts inquisition?

Oh and BTW, the poll was fuxored with by a freindly mod p) tripling the no vote in just about 3 minutes between times that I checked this thread.

Your absolutely right cucumba, ki isnt a religion. It is like driving a car and sayin ur a satanist.

On the other hand, most people will not recognize somethings exsistence if they dont know what to look for or they cant sense it somehow. A person who cannot see cannot see anything (duh), but that does not mean he says that other people cant see, cuz he cant. A deaf person may see things, but cant hear them, That doesnt mean that sounds dont exsist, Even though he may deny it. A mute cannot talk, but that doesnt mean people cant talk in general, he can hear them talk for him/herself. I could go on and on, but im already redundant.

People are afraid of what they don't understand. The church has no stance on this subject. The Papalcy has never called for the end of ki study, nor the ending of the practice of the martial arts. I have accepted Christ into my heart and made my peace with god. I am not afraid to face the future, I face it proudly knowing that I am absolved of my sins by Christ's blood. You need to be sure of the words of the Bible before you use them as a weapon.

Although I will say your right on the Jewish issue, you have only cited old testament stuff, which is the Jewish Torah.

Christ himself said "live in me, and you shall be saved". Though the bible makes no mention of ki, it doesnt of many other things. Things it does not mention are considered neutral.

People fear change. I dont know why. if someone started flying tommorow, id go up and ask him how he did it and tell him to teach me. Many others would cower in fear. Perhaps its my own stubborness, or pride that would make me do this, i dont know. IF they made 2d paper, id ask for it so i could use it. If someone got really strong beyond anything what we could do now, id accept it and try to do it myself. If teachers were turned into robotic teaching units tommorow, fine, probably better for me anyways. IF the world ended tommorow, fine, i dont care. More power to him. if we had flying cars tommorow, id look in disbelief and save up to buy one... 0_0

As for explanations, some people cant accept the fact of god's exsistence. He never came out within the past 1000 years and came out and told us what he thought, or proved his exsistence. even still people will fight you.
