Terr using ki while playing would not matter because u cannot channel ki into a non-living thing. So you could not use ki to enhance game play, considering that computers have no life force.

about that reflex thing, um I have never been hit by anything at all that I have seen, yet I don't train or anything, I am VERY fast. Also, I can sense ki naturally, not in a half hours' meditation.

I'd say it's just reflexes Koblano, if you have felt Ki you would know that something strange was going on.

Terr@c@n: Here's a segment of my post at the DMZ forum:

Ki/Chi/Qi is a flow of energy within your body. It, like all things, has a negative and positive (go ahead, physics lovers, I will shred you in this argument if you try to argue against this [/Hostility]) charge, a ying and a yang. Ki can heal as well as it wounds and mastering one aspect of ki pretty well excludes you from learning the other. If you are a great acupuncturist, you will never master bridge hands and vice versa. It resides everywhere. In the earth, the air, you, and anything else you can think of, Ki saturates it.

Why don't you knw about it? 90% of the people who start the matial arts, start with the wrong style. Another 8% gives up when they reach their "plateau". Yet another 1% makes it past this point, and their stubborn grip on what science says is real and not real, defeats them on the path to enlightenment. In america, most teachers assign this level around black belt level of ability. Most teachers here do not know their full style, unless they have invented it. My Grandmaster is in his 60's now, and is 8th degree out of 12 available. No one worth their mettle gets a black belt in 2 years. Are they good? Yes, but they lack perception, and this is key. 0.5% get it, but can't convince their master to teach them, the "true" style. That which is not taught to the Qui-lo (sp?), or outsider. I spent three years gaining the trust of my Quang Chan Nim, before he began showing without showing the art of bridge hands. My father took two years to gain the trust of his sifu for Hun Gar.

Hope that helps.

. . . and you can use Ki on non-living objects. Your not going to be sensing a wrecking ball sneaking up on you but you could use your Ki to quicken your reactions as far as physical reflex, and get the hell out of it's way. Besides Ki interacts with Ki, and Ki flows through all things, there's just tons more in living things.

oh my god i cant beleive this is an actual thread, stick to the cartoons kids, i dont even like dbz anymore, maybe its because im a little older or maybe its because im just tired of seeing the same plot like bein weak but then getting really strong right when an enemy pops up, and he turns out to be much stronger than the bad guy, ohhh wow what great writing, and what really kills me is when u see those guys in their upper teens and 20's sitting around watching it, but i dunno, i like the mod tho its still fun

Ki is real, DBZ is based on chinese legend not the other way around . . .

. . . that and I'm 25, married, work at a prestigeous pharmaceutical company, and I watch DBZ religeously. Oh yeah, that and I have taken martial arts for nine years, so unless you've been taking it longer, don't discount ki based on blind opinion. I like ya fatmanterror, but you need to post the facts supporting your argument.

cucumba what i mean is u cannot quicken a non-living item because a computer has it limits so just because u can channel ki doesnt mean u can accelerate a anamonate object with its own limits so there u go. + u may have seen when goku gave freeza ki to move he can give ki to him because he has ki that actually is controlable when a computer can even begin to use a slight percent of ki.

Actually I meant your reaction time. The machine can't use Ki, even though it may have some flowing through it (purley by accident) you wouldn't be able to get the machine moving faster. But that wasn't the point I made in my post. I didn't say the crane operator could accelerate the ball towards you, I said that you, using ki, could move a bit faster. Likewise the reaction time you posses while nailing the disk spammer to a Z shaped crusafix as an example, could be enhanced.

YOUR reflexes would be enchanced so even if u were glowing with ki it wouldnt help u on a computer 1 bit.

Clarification time. Here is an example because we are having communications issues.

I am fighting against disk lamer online. I give my wrist a little ki assisted boost to move the mouse a little faster. I am not as fast as the refresh rates on my optical mouse. I never said that the comp would move faster, I would hardly call improving concentration and reflexes useless though.

Is the edge negligible? Yes.

Is this argument silly? Yes.

Let's drop it and move on.

1 you gotta think about adrenaline. That makes your reflexes faster. As well as everyything else. But about the disc thing, why are those so annoying? They're simple to dodge, but about ki, I thought you meant sensing ki, not bringing out it's full potential. Because I can sense where everyone is in my house right now, like my dad's on the tv, but I can hear the tv :) anyways I'm sick from school because my throat hurts, badly.

so
ki:sensing means no meditation
bringing it out to make you move VERY faster: need meditation
discing: fun and easy to dodge
me dics?: yes :D
adrenaline: my thought on what makes you be more active, not ki.

my take on ki: it is a life force that you can use in replace of strength and speed, but adrenaline-let me start over

adreanaline: makes your entire body go faster including heart rate
ki: life force, and it can make you faster and stronger, but by a LOT more than adrenaline. got it?

And oh yeah, you can sense ki, for me it's quite easily, I remember this one bully I used to get picked on a while ago, when I was, like 7, he was behind me, didn't see anything of him, just sensed him, and what I did was he was about to punch me, I just ducked and turned around, then the teacher caught him. :)

Try dodging one of Hun Gar's open palm strikes after your spining jumping back kick gets pulled of course. That sucks.

In Tae Kwon Do, you don't learn any true Ki functionality until 2nd degree blackbelt.
