I found this very intriguing , I read this story today and it was about the future. A guy is on the moon with his team searching the bows of the moon, when he sees this shinny object in the far off distance. He tells his team he’s going to go and check it out. Of course they follow. Later they find this object on top of this mountain about 12,000 ft up (it was on top of a mountain). It was a Pyramid a bout twice a normal mans height. It was a smooth object, he didn’t move when he got there thinking it was made form a intelligent species. Later he came to the conclusion, while Earth was beginning The moon was dying. And that it had an intelligent life form on it. He came to the conclusion, millions of years ago a space ship of some sort of intelligent species, came by dropped by a moon on forming planets of which they thought would have intelligent life forms on it one day. And the pyramid was a beacon. Later trying to get into the pyramid it was destroyed, and the “beacon” was destroyed. Supposedly shutting off the beacon, telling the other intelligent species that we had finally advanced to a competent level of technology……..

Weird huh? teh story wascalled "The Sentinel"

creepy just plain creepy, so your saying aliens or something made a thign for humans to seek out, so when humans came by the beacon it set of to let the aliens know we are intelligent? thats cool, but still creepy.

Isn't the theory of the moon a chunk of Earth that got owned by a meteorite?

at any rate, I'm highly interested in this anyways, if you have al ink to the site where you got the info I'd love to see it :D

yeah, i just read that story for my social criticisms of the science fiction novel class

(College is great isnt it)

It's a pretty good short story, its in an anthology that I had to buy for the class...and the reason its kinda out of date is because it was written in the 50s or 60s

Sounds like some post Roswell propaganda. Interesting concept though, that would be crazy if it was true. That would mean they think were already "advanced".

But in reality, were working towards their level the hard way :(

assuming that we reach that level of technology, it would just tell them that we had finally reached that level of technology to comprehend teh technology they haveto offer, and to them, lets put this on a scale.
Present day technology - advanced. compared to past technology.
there scale - until that day ,if, we have foundthat stone or able to reach it, we havnt even reached beginner on a scale of beginner to novice to expert at technology.
