Hey Cheese, that link Killbox in your sig doesn't work. Took me to a site saying it was a bad link or something along those lines.
Looks like the site is down, so here are some other links:

Make sure to right-click on the links and save as/save link to disk.

from what i understand, IE is built into windows xp, so if you try removing it you might just have to reinstall windows in the end :\
I would suggest getting those spyware programs run, since it'll be faster and less painful

Like I said before, IE is not built into windows XP (otherwise I wouldn't have been able to totally remove it.) I've been running service pack 2 without it for a long time now. :p It's integrated to a point, but not totally built in.

There are some web content parsing functions built into the XP shell (aka explorer), but they aren't IE.

MajinDruu, why can't you get into safe mode? What is the problem exactly? Just hold down Control or F8 right before the Windows XP loading screen appears, go to Advanced Boot options if necessary, and choose Safe Mode (or Safe Mode with Networking, should you need Internet/Network access during your time in Safe Mode).

Don't bother getting the Google Toolbar, it isn't spyware, but has lots of privacy-invading "features" enabled by default.

You're better off just getting a browser from a more reputable company, such as Mozilla, Firefox, Netscape, Opera, etc., since these companies seem to understand security on Windows more than Microsoft does. :p

do what i do, if you have any firewall just block inet explorer, it doesnt let inet do anything :D

if that doesn't work do this
1)control panel
2)add/remove programs
3)add/remove windows components
4)tick these boxes internet explorer and msn explorer and accessories for some reason this needs to be checked or you lose paint
5)click next
6)once run click finish

if that still doesnt work make sure you can see all the hidden folders tools/folder options/ show hidden files + folders

go c:/documents and settings, now on mine its owner probably is on yours if you have serveral users click on yours i dunno the folder named 'majin druu' or whatever

local settings
temp, select all and delete, those that won't delete just leave, but make sure you delete all that will delete

back to local settings
temp inet files, delete all of these

go back to c:/local settings if on xp and you are admin repeat steps for all other known users eg: owner, mum or whatever

then go c:/locals settings/all users

application data

check all folders and delte those you know you didnt install or aren't labelled 'windows' or 'install shield' or 'microsoft'

if this still fails, download sygate personal firewall the newest version, load up inet explororer and sygate then right click on the inet explorer icon in sygate and click block
