Hey all, I have a quick question, will only having the counterstrike standalone version be good enough to play this game, or is the original Half Life needed?

CS standalone is fine. Thats what I use and there's no difference in how the games are played or set up. Only difference is that you'll need to get the CS update patch and not the HL update patch. Without the update, you won't be able to join games.
