installing an forum

how do i install an forum? i have the files (i think) but what must i do now??

he means like you buy this software then install it but i dunno how to never have bought and installed a forum like vboards (if you mean vboards)

easy steps

1) buy the board script
2) unzip the files onto your hd
3) read the help instal
4) place certain files into a cgi-bin folder on your site
5) move files into a folder int he site root - and make sure to chmod the files if needed
6) set the cgi paths and varibles
7) enter the fourm url in your broswer
8) configure styles and users/settings

better yet just use the read me that comes with it. thats what i di and it was easy as pie to install

well, i didint bought it, i downloaded it. and ther isnt an readme!

just open up your ftp find where you unzipped the board. IT SHOULD be in a one file called "Forums" or "boards" or somthing laong those lines or "wbboard" if your useing burning boards.

upload the file and you may or may not have to CHMOD some files (777)

phpbb don't need any CHMODDING I think, not sure though.

Not really that hard but for most locally hopsted boards you need MYSQL and PHP support from your host.

well, i figured, before i realise the board on the net, check if its good, so i need my personal web or something like that, i need the Apache version, but i cant find it anywhere
