I hope it's good. Can't wait for a shiny trailer (that'll be a long time from now though).

I honestly didn't know what his point was. Is he upset they're making another one? Thrilled?

I heard it wasn't. Didn't bother to see it myself though.

Cinematography is important and while the whole shaky handheld camera thing is different, it's a huge turnoff to me. I may give the first a chance but my friends of similar taste had that beef with it.

I, for one, liked the film. Particularly for it's immersiveness. Despite having the "actorheld camera" and all it's instability, it didn't harm the movie's flow at all. Under the guise of amateurism, some fancy camerawork was used there.

Yeah but the main problem i had with cloverfield was that nothing happened in the whole movie and there was no ending.

No resolution or anything.

There was a resolution. It just wasn't a pretty one. You were following the story of those few people, and you found out what happened to them all.

I for one thought it was a fantastic movie and look forward to the sequel.

No because you weren't following the story of the people you were following the story of the monster and some ****ty actors just so happened to be in the frame most of the time.

The overarching storyline wasn't resolved or even explained, I'll give you that, but the story presented to you was the story of those people at the party and what happened to them during the whole ordeal.

That's how Godzilla movies are made. While awesome as they are, this movie was supposed to be "your living the attack" kind of thing, and not a movie about the development of the monster. If a monster like that actually attacked your city, you'd be worried about what the next thing is going to happen to you, rather than what the monster is going to fight.

I agree. If you only went to see the monster fight ****, that's probably because of false or misleading advertising.

No im going to bet every single person who went to see cloverfield went because they wanted to see a giant monster movie. I kind of doubt people were going "Oh what is this!? Is that a monster? Gee I thought this movie was about this guy named Rob and his dating problems!"
