Shouldnt you be able to interact with the background? In the anime, a hard hit sends the weak person plummeting through a giant mountain(or three) In you should be able to knock people through stuff, or fly through things( at the expense of speed or ki or something) just a thought......oh yea and after you knock someone far back you should be able to teleport up close.....;D ;D :id: :id: :cry:

I don't think it's possible to do that in the hl engine. Only way I could think of is if you make some walls breakable by beams causing it break. But the shape of the hole hole would always be the same.

If you wanna make holes in ground or what ever use the red faction engine its perfect for that kinda crap

I agree with Bangoth about using the red faction engine to make a DBZ game because it could be a fully destroyable environment and it would be awesome being able to throw people through mountains and smash em into the ground.

This would be very hard to impliment. Don't forget that it doesn't fall upon the engine, but really the maps. I myself have seen maps in CS where if you hit a wall it breaks. But those were made by NIPPER, probably the greates map artist that has ever existed. You could ask him to make those kinds of maps for you, or better yet to tell you how.

The problem is what if someone just touches a wall. Is it possible to set it up that the wall only breaks on certain a impact?

ofcourse u can, and making a brakable object in a map is fairly easy! the only problem is it won't look like dbz, u can try it for ur self...

On the topic of the environment i dont think characters should be able to fly through the trees, not sure what would happen with the beams though...

You could make destroyable environments for lan use only if your connection sucks otherwise live with it.

Actually, destructable terrain hits your RAM the hardest, not your connection.

And give up on a new engine . . . it won't happen.

The should make a whole new codes so it would take to long to make a new game, and the won`t chance i think. but i am hoping a DBZ mode for ut 2003 or U.T a game that has a much better grafichs power and a much better on-line capiciteit unreal works much better than half life i think, but half life is a good mod game.
