I need to change avtar

What does it mean when it says 100 by 100 pixel or 1024 byts and how do i make it like that........HELP ME

this means that the pixel dimensions, 100x100 (widthxheight) are the maximum size of the avatar, and the file size must be either at, or below 1024 bytes.
