Hmm.. just disable voice communication, no one uses it anyway. About what you downloaded, try deleting it all.

I downloaded DirectX, and still the same prob, it just shuts down.

Like I said before, just disable voice communication.
Or, if you're running in any video mode other than openGL, that may be the reason why your ESF just shuts down.

What video card do you have?
Well, if your video card supports OpenGL, set your HL to that. Have a suitable resolution for your video card, and you shouldn't have any problems. If I were you, i'd simply download Mr. Satan's script pack. It seems to fix everyone's problems.

Well I did all those settings and stuff, then I went to create a game, put all the stuff I wanted, then hit ok, finally! It started loading, and for what! It shut down with that same bs message that pop's up that I posted.
