maybe you have only one sound channel? I used to have this problem until I got XP. It's not the same problem, it occured with Black N White's built-in Mp3 player. Whenver I started a song it crashed. After XP it worked fine, I could use Winamp in the background of HL without any problems, and i believe it has something to do with sound channels. Sorry i cant be more help!

No, its ESF. You can't have a command text inside the main directory, so you can't use HLamp.

You can, it just won't work. I have used HLamp for a long time now and when I go to use it on a mod (like ESF) that doesn't support the COMMAND MENU, I just take the essential commands (Like STOP, PLAY, Next Track, Previous Track) and bind them to my arrow keys).

HLamp DOES work with ESF

bind "UPARROW" "HLamp Play"
bind "DOWNARROW" "HLamp Stop"
bind "LEFTARROW" "HLamp PreviousTrack"
bind "RIGHTARROW" "HLamp NextTrack"
bind "KP_SLASH" "exec HLamp.cfg;w2;HLamp_AnnounceSong"

Yeah, I know it works, its just most people don't want to bother with binding there keys to control HLamp, so I didn't bother going through the proccess.

Actually, there's also ANOTHER way.

1. Copy HLampMenu.cfg, HLampMenu2.cfg, and HLampMenu3.cfg to your mod's directory (e.g. C:/SIERRA\Half-Life\esf)

2. Add this line to your autoexec.cfg in your mod's directory--create it if it doesn't exist already.

exec HLampMenu.cfg

3. Run Half-Life and bind a key to "root_do". For example, in the console do "bind j root_do" <ENTER>.

4. Press the key you bound to "root_do" and you'll see the menu in the top-left corner of the screen. Use the top row of number keys to navigate the menu.

Thx Mr. Satan, i didnt even no bout hlamp until you did the "I'm listening to..." on a server.

Yeah, that also works but it's not necessary, unless you really need to fast forward and skip x tracks, but I did forget about using that :p
