i'd suggest making a version with clip brushes around the crowd area, where players can't go into the crowd area. would be cool if you put ambient_generic around the crowd with a wav file of them cheering. maybe make it where if you hit the grass area = death. don't do this for every version, but just for those who would want to play on something like that. i'd enjoy playing the map if you made a version like that =)

Jea im thinking of puting a crowd sound in. But the sound i have aint to good :s

As for teh die on ring out im making a KO system.

So you cant be throwspamed out ;)
Im just having some troubles setting the triggers right. Itll be so that you have to be on the ground for a certain amount of time befor it kills you.

3 or 4 seconds got to be tested. In any case thats for the 1 on 1 version of my map. Had it partly working once. But the trigger stayed active for the amount of time you were on the rgound after it got activated. Anyhow ill see what i can do :p

how about instead of clip brushes around the crowd area, make trigger_push entities so you can't go into the crowd area, it would push you away from going into there, where you also can't be thrown into an invisible clip brush. would be nice touch to add it to the ceiling as well

Actualy you can be thrown into push entities. If you dont belive me try esf_batlearena all the sky walls have trigger_push entities. Yet you can still be thrown into the skybox.

I made the crown func ilusionary. and the texture below is like the stands. So basicly even if you do get throw into the crowd you dont see any crackmarks on the crowd itself. But adding a trigger to for ambient_generic near the crowd sounds good. Ill try that :p

Wow Grega, that's awesome how you added the hole that Vegeta made in the tournament stadium, that looks so cool it's not even funny. Good job!

I can't do it, did you clip it? I don't know how, looks like I hve alot of work before I can do proper maps!..
And in one of the photos yt the entrance you had the red and yellow things, half cicles, how do you do all of those stuff? I've got so much to learn, aww man.... :(

First i supose you mean the Vegeta holes. They are cliped out of a cube. :p

The flags are simple textures with a tully transparent area. Another cube with transparency. Remember true blue can be very transparent XD

As for teh map itself.

Not a fan of the destroyed arena, but you should add stuff inside the entrances like DJ Ready did on his tournament map.

In any case since i have some spare time im throwing in the croud sound and map number 3.

Map number 3 will be for duels only. Cause evrything exept the ring kills you XD but im adding in my own little system for that

NVM got this to work. Now i just have to figure out how to make it loop into endlessness :p


EDIT:
Ko system is working like a charm :p and is inplanted into the duel map \o/

Now here is the deal. If you are touching the ground outside the ring for 3 seconds yo die. This prevents throwspam. cause its enough time for you to get up and jump off the ground :p

Maby ill cut the time down to 2.5 seconds depending on the tests. Well just to tell you guys its working perfectly

UPDATE:
Well got bored waiting for the models. So i made a video of the crowd in action and teh KO system in action (OK so its 2 videos)

So while we are waiting for hte map to get out (models) coment on this.

The best ****ing map around. CS and DJ don't have **** on you. You are going to replace them very soon. I would like, hurry up and either run or my life or make more maps if I was them.

Maby i should make something clear. This isnt 1 map. Its 3 maps. The pack i have now without the model is over 10 Mb big already.

In any case the KO system applys only on 1 map. The one that should be ussed for duels. That map is the same as the normal map. Than there is the destroyed map.

List:
s2k_tournament (normal map)
s2k_tournament_destroyed (same place but no crowd and its destroyed partly from Vegeta and Goten)
s2k_tournament_duel (same as s2k_tournament only it has the KO system applyed to it)

So basicly you can use aney of the 3 maps you want ^^

OK i have some good news and some bad news.

The good news is someone is relaxing in teh shadow of the new model :p


The bad news is that the crowd aint playing along as good as i hiped it would.


Basicly they allways shut up instead of cheering on. So im gona have to fix that befor the release is finished. But jea. 2 maps are now 100% compleete (time for 4 hours of compiling)

Well thats the model i was waiting for :p

Youll get to see it in my btl edit of the map;) aswell ; )

In any case i have a backup plan for the crowd. The length of the crowd clip is 40 seconds. So if all else fails i can make a swich you can trigger whenever you want ;)
