can i play esf with CS:CZ and CS or do i need half life too if i dont need it then what folder do i put it in

You need to full retail version of Half-Life, plus the lastest patch in order to run ESF.

you need either Half Life 1 or the normal Counter Strike retail + steam in order to play esf, as far as i know you do not need the half life 1.1.1.0 patch, since steam will download it for you
