i can't get the game to run, i installed it with only counter strike, and it isnt running

What version Counter-Strike are you using?
Did you install into the right directory?
Did you install the correct version?


When you say it won't run, what do you mean?
It won't start up at all?
It starts up and crashes?
It starts up but you can't join any games?

If you could go into a bit more detail it might help us help you.

I am using the latest version of cs i installed it to the cs directory, i installed the latest version


it will just launch cs, and not esf

Did you install into counter-strike or cstrike?
There is a difference.

Just checking, you are using Steam right?

There should be a folder inside counter-strike named cstrike.

Give cstrike a shot if counter-strike isn't working.

Actually, you should install it into half-life, if I'm not mistaken. If it's CS retail into Counter-Strike. Then, restart steam and look under 3rd party games.

If it doesn't work in one directory use the other one.
I was saying cstrike because you said counter-strike didn't work.
So just do a guess and check, you'll find it.

You could always try simply moving the folder into the other directory.

If that doesn't work you should take some pics and post them here so we can get a better understanding of what your problem is.

okay, but how do i take screens?

There is a button on the keyboard labeled "PrtScn".
Hit that and paste it into MSpaint.
Save as .jpeg and use that site I gave you to host it.
After you do that, the site will give you a link.
Post that link here along with any other specific details you can think of.

Ok, you already have it installed in cstrike. Since it's not working that means it's the wrong directory. Try installing into the counter-strike directory (the one above cstrike).

If that still doesnt work I am out of ideas.
Can you install other mods?

I can see you already have a folder named "esf" in your "cstrike" directory.

Therefore, you should try to install into the other directory.

Try installing into counter-strike, NOT cstrike.

did you buy condition zero at all, and not the original counter strike?

If you only have a condition zero cdkey, the game will not work - it needs a mod allows access to the original halflife.
