Help me please

When I open ESF, it simply takes me to the Counter-Strike splash screen with the console open over top of it... I dont really know what to do from there.
On top of that, I downloaded the latest patch from the ESF site, and when I try to install it, it says something along the lines of "ESF could not be found in this destination" or something like that, even though I made absolutely sure that it was the same folder I installed ESF in... any assistance would be greatly appreciated, as I am really looking forward to trying this game

Be sure that you select the Half-Life folder not the ESF one.

yes I am... should I not play on Steam?

I play on steam and the only thing i do to play ESF is Double-Click "Earth's Special Forces" from Third party games.

Are you sure you installed on Half-Life folder and not Counter-Strike?

Have you tried re-installing?

It sounds like your trying to run ESF on retail CS. You need the actual Half-Life program.

It was released in 1998... so price is probably not an issue, necesarrily.

I don't thinks that's the problem...

I own CS Retail and i never have had problems with ESF (Steam and WON).

Did you run Half-Life Once before installing ESF?.

I already own Half-life, its installed, and no, i didnt run it before trying to play... but I will try. And I installed ESF on the default folder in the installation and it said it was in the Half-Life directory, but the ESF folder is in the counter-strike directory. I'll try re-installing.

ok, I have a new problem now... I re-installed ESF, and now when I try to run it, I double click the icon and nothing happens, but thats when I'm not logged into Steam.. when I am, I double click the icon and it just opens the main Steam menu, with the "Play Games, Browse Games, Friends, etc."

Well i have this in my ESF Shorcut: (Mines Launch ESF when steam is open either when it's closed).

"C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 70 -game esf

ok I put that same thing in my shortcut, andf now it just opens Half-Life as usual.. no console, no ESF, no nothing.. just normal HL
