I just got Sony MDR-V300's today for $54.24 CD, and The first time I wore them I was waiting at the bustop and it starting pouring heavly, and I waited out there with no umbrella or hat and had to even chase after the bus as it skipped me.

Anyway pathetic story aside, does rain really affect headphones?

Not really. I mean, it shouldn't. Unless you dropped them in a puddle or something, you should be fine.

Yer it doesn't. It might depending on how much water went on the adapter and what was your next move after that. E.g sticking it into your computer with vapour still on it. >_> Either than that, should be fine :)

Oh wait the adapter was in my pocket connected to my MP3 player, only the headphones were in contact with rain.

Nah it should be fine. They look pretty protective from here. Ahh well, if anything goes wrong, you can always return it :). All the best :)

Unless they stop working, I wouldn't be concerned. I've dropped mine (just earbuds) into a pond, and they were okay once they dried out.

Yup. If you get it wet, be sure to dry it out before using it, as you could short it out if you don't.

Edit: Sorry, I mean REALLY wet, like dropping it in a puddle (or a pond, like frsrblch said).
