Half-life is BORKED,help me

Yeap,i can make games fine,but i cant join em.

*blushes*

my system:Winxp pro w/ SP1 and all critical updates

amd 2200+

512 megs of pc 3500 DDR ram

radeon 9500 pro with lateest drivers

ac 97 onboard sound (LOL i know,its next on the upgrade list)

thats about it,HL was running fine until a few days ago,i didnt do anything new to the comp.

No wonder. It is a wonder half life works at all on that junk machine. You need at least a Geforce FX and 2 to 3 gigs of ram (j/k).

You might want to check and see if any of your sound drivers or anything else got screwed up. Sometimes they just break.

Do other games work? Outside of half life?

Yea,my other stuff works(ive been playing wc3:the frozen throne BETA all day)

I can make HL games and it runs fine,but i cant join games.

i tried that eye thingie and it gives me some error,it says the server is either full (which is wrong) or server is unresponsive.

the lag on server updating is getting better but i cant join games....

Try updating Dirext X, 8.1 if you can find it. dx9 supposedly has some compatability issues, unfortunately, if you installed DX9, your stuck with it. Perhaps directplay died.

Hmm... seems like NOTHING works then. Have you tried to completely shut down the firewall? Try it, but just to see if that makes it work

I'm not too thrilled about your choice of language there. It's unnecesary and it doesn't solve anything. You might want to try Valve's homepage and look for support links about Half Life to find additional information.
