Frieza's disk-controlling it

I was just wondering how do you control the frieza disk. I've been told you just do the same as the kamehameha but the only thing that happens is that it goes left/right and not back to you. In one server I was in, people were throwing like crazy and when they missed, they managed to get it back in their hands and use it again. So I am just wondering how do you do it.

right click makes it come back through mountains and whatnot if it hits somthing or just return
