FPS PROB PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

after trying nearly everything i cannot fix my fps problem
PROBLEM:
i am running
pentuim 4 2.0ghz
geforce4 mx 440
256mb ram

And i the max fps on esf is locked on 60fps! i tried fps_max "100" or max_fps "100" but it still wont go above 60fps!!

im told all i have to do is turn off vsync, if this is true please tell me how!

I'm not sure what you should do, but turning on vsync may work. To do that, right click your desktop, then click properties. Then go to the settings tab and click advanced, a window should pop up, then (on my geforce anyways) click the ta on the top right which has your vid cards name, then turn on vsync from there.

Also before you do this try updating your video card to the latest drivers if you haven't already.

lol ... maybe you've got 120fps ... but your screen only shows 60 of them ... that's the reason for the 60fps thing ... just browse the forum ... there're about 5 fps threads active

The Vsync turned off really helps =) It's at a constant 100 FPS now, even with all the flashy stuff
