FPS drops

When someone uses beams in ESF 1.2.3 servers my fps drops to ~10. Without beams my fps can reach more than 100. (OpenGL)
I am using Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
VGA: nVIDIA Geforce GT540M 3D Graphic Card/ 1GB DDR3.
All drivers updated.

How can I fix it?

Do you have similar issues with HL1 when grenades explode or something similar that calls out sprites, or did you install any addons or AMXX stuff to your ESF?

I have installed ECX RC2.
Yes, I thinks the reason is the sprites.. It's the same with Half-Life explosions, etc.

hey im using the GT525m and it works fine, why don't you just reinstall it.

Ok i was wrong, i get the same problem with beams. The culprit must be Optimus technology, I think Esf is playing on our intel gpu instead of our mid range nVidia GPU. This can be solved if there is an ESF icon which we can right click > set to run on nVidia GPU.

The game works fine on 16 bit though? Is it normal to lag on 32 bit

WTF you can't disable an integrated card via device manager?

Ok looks like you can manage it through the NVidia control panel under the profile for hl.exe. Try setting the preferred card to the nvidia.

I have the same card and the same problem as well. http://imageshack.us/f/717/unledgzo.jpg/ It's inactive as u can see. However i changed the preffered card on cs and it works perfectly fine. 100 fps all the time.
