If anything that disappointed me so far is that they did way to good a job of making the Reapers seeming unbeatable.

I feel like even if I gather every race in the Galaxy and use our best tech we still don't stand a chance. It was indeed, supposed to make us feel like the Reapers are a threat...but now I feel like beating them can only be done with a plot device...the Crucible...they over did it.

So I'm about 3 hours in, and they've improved just about everything. That said, the whole 3 round burst thing for my M55 is bull****, and I hope whoever decided it shouldn't be semi-auto should be taken out back and killed.

That's exactly the point I was making. The ending sucked. The Crucible is the only thing that can stop the Reapers. You get three choices: Destroy all synthetic life (including the Reapers, the Geth, and yourself), take control over the reapers (you die, the relays go out), or create a new form of DNA mixing organic and synthetic life. I personally chose controlling them, but it wasn't very satisfying.

Why bother using the M55? The M13 seems like it fits your play style better. It's light and it works.

There are things I like about ME3's system, and things I dislike. I like the fact you can now run pretty much indefinitely. I like that you can customize weaponry (though, this puts pressure on you for finding all the upgrades you want when you're running through a level). I like that how much you carry affects how much time it takes between you can use powers. I am ambiguous about grenades -- on one side, they're useful, but on the other side, at higher difficulties than Normal, you're pretty much going to die every time someone throws a grenade your way and you can't jump back to another cover. I dislike that sometimes, you are set up against ludicrous odds for no apparent reason (example: the Geth battery, where you essentially have to sit still for an eternity if you want to live -- or at least I had to). I dislike that my teammates are complete and utter morons who should not be allowed to carry weaponry, let alone serve on the Normandy. Holy. *******. ****. The teammate AI is terrible. The only useful teammate I've found, is Garrus with a powerful sniper rifle. The rest are about as useful as rocks in a balls to the wall firefight. I mainly used James and Garrus (James for the "I don't die" thing + his one useful power, and Garrus for his "can actually kill armored targets" talent).

I'm tempted to start playing again as an Adept or something. I can tell you that being a Soldier this time around was about a dozen times harder than it was in ME2.

I don't have an M13.

Also, happy to hear being a soldier is harder in this game, because it's hard not to absolutely wreck house in 2.

Well, unless you're on Insanity, in which case you're dead as a soldier in ME2. But other than that, yeah.

I'm tempted to play a Vanguard on my next run, they seem to have some serious awesomeness going with the whole biotic charge thing.

Also:

You'll get an M13.

So I'm still playing it, still enjoying it thoroughly. I upgraded the M55 all the way, and it still seems like a piece of ****, which kinda makes me sad. I used the M-96 Mattock (The M55 is supposed to be a modified M-96) for the entirety of 2, and it never let me down. What does buying upgrades for the weapons do anyway? I feel like the advantage of doing so is so small, I may as well save my money and focus on buying new parts for them.

Upgrades should be used only on weapons that you decide to use. Like the M-96 Mattock (it's in this game, too). Upgrades give you more ammo capacity, slightly better accuracy, and much less weight (so your powers can be used more often). It's imperative that you max out the upgrades for anything you intend to be carrying around a lot, so your powers are frequently available.

Also, don't carry a lot of guns. It's not wise.

It is!? Huzzah!

And yeah, I only carry my rifle and nine times out of ten, a sniper rifle. I miss having a pistol, but adrenaline rush or whatever slows **** down lets me take down 5 dudes at a time. I think I may just end up using the Prothean laser rifle until I get a semi-auto rifle. It has the "Chargin mah lazer" feature and basically infinite ammo, so it ain't bad.

Also, sidenote, I like that the Dragon Age armor is still in the game. I hope all of the others are there, too, even though I only ever used the Kestrel set.

I'm a Vanguard.

Biotic Charge maxed out. I am disappointed.

I can biotic charge at an enemy and they won't be stunned 80% of the time. Supposedly due to some % factor I read. Biotic powers help in this, but are not nearly as useful. I got Shockwave maxed out and I see 4 or 5 enemies all standing in a circle, it encompasses them, they just shrug it off.

It's much more effective to just keep shooting them. Melee though, is so OP in this, I can 1 hit almost everything and while doing the heavy melee animation, enemies seem to not be able to kill me, so you can spam that.

Shield enemies were a cool idea; but poorly implemented. When I Biotech charge their asses, I should like push them back or knock them over. I have like a 75% increase in Biotic damage and I still can rarely stun anyone with any of my maxed abilities. This is normal mode, by the way.

And yeah, the odds you face piss me off. The infinite grenade throws as well. So many times I die cause I kill about 20 enemies and go "Yeah, it's safe now", and then I run forward and another 5-6 come out of no where. Less is more, in a game like this, BioWare, remember that. have 5-6 enemies by default, but make them tough and a challenge instead.

Prolly.

Just in ME2, my Biotic powers would destroy the waves of enemies, in this, not so much.

In a game like this, fighting a single fire team and then moving on is stupid. I prefer the way it is now. I'm just tired of seeing Cerberus *******s jetpack their way off of rooftops, though I guess it's better than them just appearing.

Right now, I have 2 gripes. First, I still can't crouch unless I'm behind cover. That's stupid. Second, the spacebar. I've jumped over obstacles I wanted to take cover behind, and have taken cover behind obstacles I wanted to jump over. I've also taken cover on the completely wrong side of a pillar because it won't let me jump over the *****. It's getting to be annoying.

I agree, crouching should be an option - at least on the PC. It's almost as annoying as being unable to prone in Crysis 2. The Spacebar has treated me well, actually. By comparison to ME2, it has only killed me two times, rather than fifty.

In ME2, I always got the levitation bug so the game was an exercise in self-control and patience. Right now, I'm trying to get past 50 waves of Cerberus dudes, where every single ******* time I'll kill like 99% of them and then a random engineer will plant a turret behind me. It doesn't matter which way I'm facing. He's always behind me. Where's my team? Who the **** knows, because they don't respond to my commands.

Edit: Alright, so like 3 seconds after I started using the Mattock, I killed everyone. I'm also using someone's Anti-armor bullet mode thing, so that certainly helps a lot.

@Zeo:

1. Press shift. Notice the red dots on the radar.
2. Shoot the red dots on the radar until they die.
3. Complete missions.

That being said, you always kill engineers first. ******* turrets. I never get caught by one in the end though. It's always when I run blindly into a combat zone and realize "****, two turrets, I'm dead."

Wow, man. Thanks for the tips. Turns out I was running backwards the entire time, so no wonder they were always behind me!

Turrets are the number one problem in multiplayer.
Pro tip: shoot the turrets on their backs, they explode.

This game is for lonely souls, that don't care about anything at all, I don't like the endings at all.
As I said it before, its a filler and the whole nmbr 3 is even a crappier filler as someone mentioned it, you gather everysingle****inthegalaxy and its useless, I'm glad I didn't spend extra time finishing extra side quests on this one. I get it, sad endings are pretty cool but you practically have the same ending no matter what you choose, you die and pull every one in the stone age again.. Exiting from the Normandy on that dinosaur stone age planet and they were like "Finally, we are at peace, now we can do Bear Grills **** in the wild, we are so happy here." I mean who would be happy with that ****?

Avenger what did you choose, save Geth or not? I also agree about what you said for the gameplay, ****!
Played the game and uninstalled it afterwards, no need to waste any more of my time on it.

This is my opinion, my taste so don't get frustrated about it people.

I really like the game. I'll post about it more when I've beaten it. There are some minor complaints I have, but I can probably find something to complain about anything.

Also, this topic has the worst name ever.
