Duel/tournament Mode

Ok, i don't know if anyone else has played jedi knight 2 BUT they have a duel mode. Basically its 1 on 1, and everyone else waits..winner stays next on in line moves up to fight. I mean, in the show this is how it works almost all the time. Vegeta fights Freeza, loses, then goku fights him. OR possibly a tournament mode where as you join the server everyone is placed into lots, once the minium lots are filled, the tourney begins. winners advance, when 1 is left, tourney starts over....maybe a maps designed like the world martial arts tournement stadium or the otherworld tourney stadium. Also with people that join in the middle of a tourney just wait for the next one to start. Just a thought to bring more diversity to the game.

that sounds like a good idea but if the tournament mode comes popular and busy, you could join a server and could be waiting up to hours just to fight in the first round :shocked: but hopefully they will add this idea in the near future and see how it goes

But most servers would be small. like 8 players or so.

ALso in Jedi Knight 2 there is a duel mode in free for all player to player challange.
The idea is you target the player and press a key to challange him to accept he presses the challange key also and then you are now in a seperate battle and you cannot take damage from other players and can only do damage to each other.

I like the challenging thing. but is that possible with the half-life engine?

well concidering the HL engine is a modifyed Quake 2 engine and jedi knight 2 is the modifyed quake 3 engine and quake 3 is a heavyly modifyed quake 2 engine sure
