I only see directx 9.0 from my microsoft [Edit 8:20 pm] office program at the window's xp website.

You need a HAL-9000 to run it, but it exists.

Its only available for Windows 7. You should really get it, its a thousand times better...

Right now Windows 7 is more compatible then XP. All the programs are currently being made for 7, soon XP will be discarded. It is also the only way to get DX9000, too bad you are missing out. They say it improves framerates by over 9000.

Sorry about the 2 month bump. :/

However... In regards to Tessellation you don't have to apply it to everything like Character Models and such.
Could be something a little more simple like... Only applying Tessellation to only the water, it would have a fairly large impact on image quality in maps with large bodies of water.

Can understand why you won't go down that path, just food for thought.

We would if we would use DX but we can't we use OGL and such stuff is a ***** there^^
Anyway for nicer water there are other possibilitys

I'd say that, for an engine whose technological prowess was limited to static light maps, you're doing amazing things "hacking" in features like per pixel shading and the such is quite impressive.

Personally ESF looks wonderful as it is and there are new graphic techniques/optimizations happening all the time, so by the time they added another new technique that has potential would pop up.

I just want it to be done haha. I trust what they have in store for us.
