56g@y is illegal because it ties up the phone lines!! That is why we only get 53, but our modems have the potential to get 56!!

There is no such thing as a 53k+ connection, but there are 56k upload modulator/demodulators, fewl. You can only upload at 33.6k FYI, so be more thorough next time.

I have a 53k down, 33.6k up. And whoever calls it welfare wire again will be banned. ;/

Actually, it should be 48k...Federal Law limits how much bandwidth a modem can use to 48k.

BTW, I have SDSL 768 kbps (76.8 k/s) up and down.
