Hey,

I am "cleaning" my computer up so it is faster and Virus free I suppose. Well I need some help.

I am manually cleanign out my files, and I plan to Scan Disk and DeFrag the beast once I am done, well...

I am wondering if anyone knows of some things I could do to make my computer run better, thats free and doesn't require me to leave my computer seat.

Also maybe somebody may know of some files whihc would help ole' OwA| in his adventures with computers.

Well here is what I do with my comp.
Gotto Start Menu>Run> and type "Msconfig" without the quotes.
Then go to where it says start up icons. and uncheck ALL of the
start up icons. When you restart your comp it should load faster too.


I donno if anything that could help ya in-game though. Im no
comp wiz.

searching , i don like it because i usually find just some bull****. Here is what you can do. I know because I've had my share of crashes, viruses, bugs, reinstall windows, reset HD all that.

Unless you have a good anti virus software you wont be completely virus free unless you completely reset your HD and even then you may not be totally free of virus :shocked:
If you have anti virus use it, if not get some McAfee or Norton (norton is better) and get a firewall too. If you dont want to because you is broke then oh well.

Do you use any p2p programs , like kazaa? I hope not, anyway if you like to use them get Kazaa lite trust me (www.kazaalite.com) and be carefull what you d/l because they found a way to hide viruses inside .mp3 files now :shocked:

The last and most important thing you should do is: DOWNLOAD AD-AWARE from Lavasoft. you know what spyware and adware are? they = bad so this program gets rid of them, chances are you will have a BUNCH of that **** on your computer and you may have 200+ if you use Kazaa (kazaalite is free of that)...

Oh and dont uncheck all the startup items because some of them you need (like antivirus if you have them) and systray you need it. Also if you have less icons on your desktop it is better because too many icons on desktop eats away RAM.
