couse i need one for the mod but i dont have a compiler so could give me the adress to get one?

you can download HL SDK2.3 freely as installer ... I haven't tried much compilers yet ...
I got Borland and Visual C++ from my school ... I don't really like Visual C++, but it's the best for modcoding

Free compilers for windows/dos:
www.mingw.org (commandline)
www.borland.com (commandline or free "turbo C++" DOS compilers with UI in the museum)
http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/ (dos command line compiler)

You might want to check out one of those first to see if coding is your thing. Borland Turbo C++ is a great compiler to get started in.

Like Nretep said though, you need to compile HL code in MS Visual C++ 6. I heard it can be buggy if you don't.

/me knowbs C and studing C++ soon but in Borland...
our teacher at school really is a bad ass and a stupid teacher
now I am going Super Visual_Basicing-Jin, anyway does anybody knowbs how to conver codes made in Borland to Visual
I mean is there a Patch or a conversion program for this?

or maybe better - is there a way to code ESF in borland?
