Basically, only moderators can close a thread. We're the people in charge of the forum and keep it from getting out of hand. If you look at the bottom of the main index, you can view the forum leaders. That shows you who's a moderator. It's our job to patrol the forums and make sure everyone follows the rules. If you ever have a problem, or you want to report a bad thread, you come to us.
