Can't find start for 1.3

I have the steam ver of HALF LIFE and I just installed the new 1.3 update now I can't find out how to start it do I have to have the old 1.2.3 installed first?

Simple. Open the steam games list and select Earthh's Special Forces Open Beta Final from the list.
