ok, i remember reading a thread about braces, but they didnt exatly answers my question so instead bringing back an old topic, i started a new one with the questions i would like answered

well i have had braces for over a year now, only about 6-7 months to go now, just wondering, how do they take them off, those of you who know different types of braces,,,,i have the knows with a thick metal ring on the last 4 teeth, top and bottom at the back of my mouth....

1) how do they remove them
2) does it hurt? :]

electro shocks, I think
no ... they burn them out
or was it acid ??? I dunno
maybe they're just hammering on them til they break (not the teeth :Þ)

last buzt not least ... maybe they don't do anything ... they wait til they fall of by themself ;)

[serious]
I don't think the metal rings are on the last 4 teeth ...

I'm not how eexactly they remove them ... but I think the use anything what acts like acid for the glue (missing english words) ... then they're not hard fixed anymore and they can take them off ... then they clean your teeth from the rest glue on them ... it should feel much more smoothly then (than before) :)

I don't think it hurts (much) ... (maybe you just lose conclusion (however it's spelled) cause of the pain :p) ... you've to think that enough really young kids have braces ... I can't imagine that this will hurt ...
just be a man !!! ;)

lol thanks,
when i say on the last 4 teeth, i mean, *just checking* let me draw a diagram to hard to explain...
ok the drawing failed badly, i will try to explain o_O , on well you upper jaw has 2 sides to it, the 2nd from last tooth on the right side of my upper jaw has a metal ring over it, exactly the same with the left side, and exactly the same as the bottom right and bottom left, i hope you can understand the way i have explain it lol

lol ... no ... i didn't understand it ... I don't even know if you have got your last 4 teeth (they've got a name, but I dunno)

so I think ...

you mean the 6th tooth from the middle (that's how the doctors count (If I'm right)) ... the 3rd are the ones on/ with the edges ... then 2 big ones ... then the next ones ...

that were I have the metal rings ................................. *no comment*

yeah 6th tooth, but i had 4 teeth removed ><! so yeah the 5th tooth along both sides, upper jaw and lower jaw, so each 5th tooth in every corner has a thick metal ring, lol

and the wire is attached from the too top etc and the too bottom are attached via wire, etc etc

off-topic - about thinking about little kids, i always think about taht type of stuff when i am stuck on waht to do, like skiing, i jsut thought if little kids can do it, so can i lol *laughs* yeah

ATTENTION = when i say i think about little kids, i dont mean teh same way as Micheal Jackson!

Doesnt hurt, they just unclip the rings, scrap the glue off and rinse. Takes... 10 minutes for all of them.

When I had mine taken off, they removed the plastic brace covers on each brace, pulled the wire out, snapped the braces themselves off my teeth, and used this tool that sprays air mixed with tiny particles of some type of plaster to get the glue off. Then they had to use this tool that spins at 8,000 rpm or so to "round" the edges of my teeth (no clue why :S).

I had mine for 5 years, you're lucky. :p

After you get them adjusted/tightened up, you generally can't eat (easily)for 2 days or so, and you are in a piss-ass mood, too. :p

I had to have them for just about 5 years because I needed ALL my teeth shifted forward to close a gap between my front teeth. -_-

I remember all the pulling and pushing my braces did to my teeth, very annoying time in my oppinion, BUT totally worth it :)

anyway it doesnt hurt, its more this annoying feeling that people are doing something to your teeth. you feel freed tho once they're removed.

dont worry about them, they're out before you know it, thats what happened to me ;)

When I had mine taken off, they used a "plyers-like" tool. Pretty much the bottom end of the plyers would press up against the bottom of my teeth, and the top end of the plyers would be leveraging down on the braces. Comes off very fast and doesn't hurt that bad. I'm pretty sure they used some sort of thinner to dilute the cement they use to keep the metal brackets on ur teeth. Worked pretty well. After u get them off, ur teeth will feel so gross from all the excess glue/cement still on ur teeth. After he scraps it all off, ur teeth feel slimy just cuz they are so much smoother than what you are used to. Weird feeling, but one you should experience ;)

one thing i did think my teeth were going to fall out or something is when they remove the elastics ready for another wire, they pull your mouth about alll ove rhte place, lol oh well,

when i last went, they said this was my last wire and they had to wait until all the gaps have closed, oh well, i am looking forward for them coming off,

,,,,,but i have heard something about your tongue being funny or something afterwards? lol
