Blender 3D?

Hi,

Is blender 3d any good (since it's free)? I'm asking because while i wait for Milkshape 2.0 i'm Starting to model with Tutorials on Gmax, but most of the people says that i should start with Milkshape because Gmax is more advanced, but... what about Blender 3d?

i tried it once, i couldnt understand how to use it, but i did however make a box . its wierd.
