Bit of help here please......

Well I have played this game several times but I have yet to succeed in installing it on my own computer even after reading all these posts. I start by installing HL2 and then upgrading to 1.1.0.8 which is apparently the latest version I am able to find (if anyone knows a better one please post a link to it). Then I install the full version of esf 1.2.3 and here's where the problems begin. I often get a message that reads that my version of ESF is out of date. If by some merical I some how make it to the load screen when trying to create a game (joining is impossible because of that out of date message) I recieve another pain in the butt message that reads missing bitman file 800_melee something .tgt or something like that. I could use alot of help to resolve these issues and finally get to playing this fun game.

The problem is, you're using the outdated HL GUI (aka Won) to try and play ESF. Won is dead. You have to get steam...

1) Download steam, and install.
2) Register your HL Cd-Key
3) Run Half-Life once, it will update everything for you.
4) Install ESF 1.2.3.

Wow thanks a bunch, its all working extremely well now. Just one more thing, i noticed before i installed it this way I could play "console" which I guess is single player. How do I play single player now?
