Here's my situation:

I'm in need of a job, and there happens to be numerous openings in my area. The problem is that all of them involve interaction with customers, and unfortunately for me, I have a terrible anxiety with talking to people (minus over the internet). Whether it's the lack of confidence or self-esteem, it doesn't seem to really matter much, even in the best of my days I still have a terrible anxiety. I've been trying to look for jobs which involve more physical work though I'm not within the legal age to do such work.

The thing is that I need a job, and I definately want a job but at the same time I don't want a job if it involves interaction with customers.

I only had one job that lasted 10 days, working at Dominos Pizza. I was fired for whatever reason, since it was the assistant manager that passed on the word from the manager and the manager wasn't at work that day for me to speak with him. I was told by other employees that it was because I didn't do very good taking orders, to the point where they had to give customers free pizza (a policy that Dominos follows whenever a pizza takes longer than 30 minutes to be delivered).

I know it sounds like the typical drama every faces, but I don't know what to do at this point.

99.9% of all jobs involve your interaction with customers. Get used to it, or get medication.

Haha, tbh, and no offense, I never seen why people get all nervous in front of people. I just simply don't care, I love interacting with people.

It's basically in your head, just talk to them as if it was your friend, or don't care what happens.

that's what i usually do.

Thats a problem, the best thing to do imo is confront the problem head on. Get a job where your forced to interact with people. The only way you're ever going to get over it is if you're forced to do it.

I can tell you how to get over your anxiety, but I'm afraid it involves you being nervous often. Go for the people-interaction jobs simply to get used to interacting with people. Unless you plan on being an engineering physicist later in life, you're going to need to interact with people to work.

Edit: See what happens when I forget to press post? Someone comes along and says it for me! Now if only homework was the same way...

Bottom line, my friend, is that Darwin said it best: Adapt or die.

Besides after the first few times it will be like second nature to you; we human beings are remarkably adaptable to stuff.

If the interacting with people is absolutely necessary in the jobs, just remember to:
- Ask if you dont know something.
- Listen carefully.
- If you forget something or dont hear something the customer says, just go back and ask him.
- You can learn to talk with people mostly by listening others.
- Asking something couple of times is better than messing up.

Asking is the keyword.

I had the same problem a while ago. I just couldn't see myself working with people, until I got my first job ofcourse.

Get a job where you HAVE to work with people the whole time. I was a customer assistant in a CD store, games dept to be exact and it was great. Not only did I face my fear but I also got to work with games the whole damn time. I even met a whole lot of gamers and made a lot of friends.

So, get something you like but where you also face your fear.
