Im out there looking for the best mods, im waiting for bushdio right now to finshed :laff: that looks like a really good mod

The only 2 mods I play anymore are ESF and CS. Heres a list of my top 5.

DoD has gone to hell. It used to be my number one but after 2.0 it just slowly got worse and worse. Its been reduced to just a team deathmatch. They can say it focuses on teamwork but it only does as much as any other video game with teams.

My favorite multiplayer mods are: ESF, (of course) TFC, and CS.
There are a couple really good single player mods I have found too. Half-Life Uplink (the Half-Life demo) is always fun, Redemption is good, and Scientist Slaughterhouse is a really fun mod when you're bored.

im sorry to bring u guys a reality check but esf is by far not the number 1 mod. at best its about 11. the overral gamelay gets tiresome in about 2 seconds and the only thing drawing people in is the fact that its a dragon ball z mod. the number 1 spot is obviously either DoD or CS. i dont care if u dont like cs for whatever reasons you have to admit before 1.3 came out it was fun and it actually required some amount of skill. DoD is also an awsome mod that is in my opinion better then the medal of honor series as far as gameplay goes.

but yes esf is a above average mod but there is nothing mind blowingly good about it. there isnt really any balance to the game. if you come in a server and some guy has been there for awhile you are ganna get smoked because he has a huge power level. while CS or any other mod out there is based on weather or not you can actually play the game. There are no other determining factors in weather u r ganna die besides luck and skill. while esf the only determining factor is being able to melee and power levels.

1m4 0wn y0 455, when you're talking about opinions, you cant say "obviously". Personally I hate DOD, it's just boring old WWII... been there done that, got the t-shirt. CS? It was fun the first 200x, but now it's lost all individual flavour.

Earths Special Horses! This mod has some very original gameplay elements, flying around blasting energy balls, power struggling, melees and recoveries. Whenever I play it I always set up some fun scenario, like Gohan kicking Goku's ass across the time chamber, or Super Buu turning Vegetto into a doughnut. What can you do with CS? Well, you can crouch for 10 minutes while you reach the enemy position, and then get shot in the head once by a hacker or some guy hidden perfectly behind a pillar. Fun? I dont think so.

Natural Selection is another special game. Sure, it's not too original, it's the lovechild of AVP and Starcraft. But it's the first game i've played to mix multiplayer team elements, 1st-person action shooting and overhead commanding together, and produce a beautiful hybrid of the two genres. Plus it's fun! I dont remember the last time in CS I crawled along a wall and dropped onto my prey, or kitted up in a huge metal suit and marched around indestructably.

Existence is also another teamplay shooter, but it has interesting bombing/hostage/escaping scenarios, plus ultra-fun weapons and some superhuman abilities to keep it from being another boring old CS. High-jumping into the enemy's base, anyone?

All the others mentioned... Specialists uses awesome John Woo moves and trademarks to create movie-like gun battles. I wouldn't pay to see a movie about CS, not if it had Chow Yun-Fat in it.

TFC for christs sake! even TFC is more fun than CS, and it's been around since the first Quake!

ESF is one of the best mods for HL to ever come out, and it deserves some recognition for it's achievments and bold ideas. CS deserves a shallow grave, before it kills HL's beautiful mod community forever.

NS is the best Mod, whoever thought to make NS with the Half-Life Game play, building your own bases and workers and fighters... its just a amazing game

Yea. They have trouble balancing the teams. I'm not going to say its easy though concidering how complex and advanced the game is. When they figure it out the game will get much better.

But Counter-Strike is the mod that made the HL mod community what it is. Why do you say it'll kill it?
