Splatback for me because it pulsates and looks more alive; the ball looks too stagnate for me.

I don't know if you guys remember but there is a Beam Struggle fx in the

Dalte's style on this one has always seemed to be a pulsating ball with particle effects blowing back to give a sense of power.

Gotta agree rainbow here.

The splat looks better than the ball in those images.
Than again it's hard to tell wich one looks better.
Depends on how the actual ingame version looks like.

--- edit ---

Also the splash one is hard to make imo...
the overwhelming one 'leans' on the other beam and if it changes it's the other way arround.
think it has to much variation to make it actually look as good as it should :p

Attacks have different flows to their energies. Some are really dense and will react different to a beam like a kamehameha. I believe each beam has its' own style to it if you ask me. I guess the way you concentrate your beam in this game probably won't be as complex as you need it to be. Kind of like a focus system where you can control how dense or how powerful the beam can be while it is charging. But i'm not too sure about how they went about coding it.

edit: I also think the actual sound a beam struggle makes is underestimated. It should sound like a damn tornado or even louder, it should lift rocks off the earth and make the environment rip apart. I mean if you really take the time to put that much energy into the beam it should be insane right? But again that's a high level of coding that would have to be done.

Didn't we post the .gif I made of a galick gun vs. galick gun? I can't remember where it was at though. Was quite some time ago.

Epic. I do hope there are some water parting effects going on as well nowadays ^^ (as I understand that .gif is fairly old?)

Yes flip, it's a tad dated. I think it was done back when we released those 2 videos of all the testers playing on the map. And yes Plak, water 'displacment' under the beam heads as they travel along.

Ah, so it isn't that old really :). We peasants just didn't get to see it. Maybe I should do some naughty stuff to get thrown in the "Pit" lol
