the proper scale will be 1.0. if you change it to 0.9, smaller. but if you make it 1.1, bigger. if you then go 1.3, then 0.9, it will be in the middle. it dosent go to exactly that size when you scale it, it just goes bigger or smaller. so, if you make it 1.5 then realise its to big, make it 0.8 and it will size down a bit, but not actualy go to 0.9 (and dont 4get to go to texture and save it)

Im done reformattting, and almost everything is installed again.

Best to check up the worldcraft or whatever its called these days help ref,,,

Error: Exceeded MAX_PATCHES <-- common error :)

Also make sure your optimising your vis by caulking and taking necessary steps to reduce your cpu load!

Levels looking nice sorry I can't help more I'm out of practise with hl stuff these days

hmm... i seem to be 6000 pathes over the limit
I may just increase the size of some of the textures with the texture application to reduce this problem.

on-topic: a bunch of tyhem maps i recognise, very nice :D specialy roshiisland
Since my map is so damn complex, i may have to split it in two parts, because i still have to add 3 more lvls of the ship... and ive ran out of resources in VHE when i compile it.
rr u doing it in HL size or ESF size?
also, you could make a teleporter, and make a room to the right near the top of the map space, make it teleport u in there

yes, obviously, but remeber they shrunk all the models so they could havem ore room? so if u make a map and base it gordon-size, everything will b too big, and you will run out of room faster, just wondering if u were doing it gordan-kinda-size

Not to be an ass but you are not doing too good....

First off, your shapes USE WAY TOO MANY POLYCOUNTS, second off you can tell that most of the terrain is made with a terrain editor.....


You should check your r_speeds im guessing theyr over 2000 at places which is really baaad...

Don't so many polys just to make the dome or round shapes round.....

Read some tutorial. Don't take my post negative, just trying to motivate you to do it right...

Roshi island i belive i did do a good job on that one.
i was hoping to fix the problems in all the maps i made that were reported to me, but 2 maps seemed to be giving me a problem.
One: a light problem
and
Two: Resize problem... and solid problem...

No, it's more like, if you are a mapper, be aware of the amount brushes and the scale of textures you use. This causes the "max_patches exceeded". As for "leaf portal saw into leaf". It means some of the brushes, are sticking through another one.

sorry its taking so long, i was hoping to release it when 1.2 was released, but i got into some trouble and got grounded for a while so ill tell ya what ive done these past few hours.

ive resized the ship so it takes up less resources and patches.
aligned the textures.
resized the models. (altho i can make them stand on the ground properly, they just are stuck in the middle of the map...)(only half their body is visable)

anyway, dont give up hope because I WILL RELEASE THIS MAP
