I wanna cleanup my HDDs, seeing as I'm getting crazy cyclic data redundancy errors.... Darn NTSC :| Hate it....
Anyway can someone lead me to some good scan disk softwares? Free trials will do.

Just use Windows:

1. Open Start.
2. Open My Computer.
3. Under hard disk drives, highlight whichever drive you wanna scan.
4. Open the file menu and choose "properties".
5. Open the tools tab.
6. Click the "Check now" button to the right of error-checking.

I'm not sure, but it might be that your hdd has been broken and Gets sector blocks continously, is it the hd you're running your Os on atm ?

nopes. It holds my animes and stuff....

Anyway it was with the NTFS Files sytem.

Win 2k doesnt have much support for its advanced features which I used like a foolish n00b.

Anyway I'm back on XP right now and everythings dandy. I'm disabling all the indexing and ****. So everything seems to be working fine.
Thanx anyway.
