I bought The Animatrix on DVD yesterday (plus the soundtrack) and it rocks!

Now I've got a question: if you watched it, what's your favourite Animatrix story?

Mine is Final Flight o/t Osiris. The fight scene at the start; pwnage!

definatly final flihgt, tho the second renesaince is also very nice. you get to know the history really well.

i've seen it last friday (rented it), gonna buy it next week tho.

final flight was great i liked The Second Renaissance as well

I liked A Detective Story best, I loved the way it was drawn, and best of all it had the feeling of a good ol 50's detective movie.

Final flight was awesome. The CG work was flawless. I liked all of them except for the 16 minute weird fest provided by Matriculated.

second renaissance was very interesting, for the whole thing about how the machine revolution began

i agree with 8bit, matriculated was more of an LSD trip than The Matrix

still pretty cool

Final Flight and A Detective Story were my favorites hehe, Animatrix was 10x ebtter then i thought it would be especially for Final Flight, It was so realistic.

I'm still stuck on the last one. I can't figure out where in the timeline it fits in but I have a sneaking suspition that it is a precursor to revolutions. It's certainly different from the rest. The one where the house allows the kids to break and mold the matrix gives me a knot in my stomach... I found the one where the kid is saved by neo from school really cool because it ties directly in with reloaded.

I liked A detective story and a kids story, they were both drawn beautifully, and made me want to watch them again and again.

Oh and yes, matriculated confused the hell out of me, maybe someone could explain what it was about? The only part I got was that they were "converting" a robot.

Well thats all there was to Maticulated. But the whole point was that humans live in a Matrix created by robots, so this robot is in a Matrix designed by humans (which explains the colors, un-exactness, and general weirdness). What I DON'T get is where the heck did they get a Bushbaby from, how they manage to keep it alive, and what the heck do they use it for (night servalince?). And why a Bushbaby? That has to be the most random occurance Ive ever seen in a long time, lol. But yeah, second renaissance has always been my favorite.

When i saw the trailer I thought beyond was the best (i still do). I bought it on pay per view and it's pretty cool.

Favorite: Beyond
Second Favorite: Second Renissance
Best Eyecandy: Final Flight of the Osiris
Least Favorite: Kid Story (mostly for the eye hurting animation).

yeah second renaissance was disturbing, i reckon its possible for something like that to happen in the future- ai gone too far. the android killed his owners because they were gonna shut him down, that was grot.

final flight was strangely arousing, seems to me those animators really loved their work
