ok before you point me in the direction of the world of warcraft forums, let me say this, i've been there already and the community isn't as helpful as i find this one to be, ok? :p

Ok here's the deal i know a guy who is having WoW problems, he says he keeps disconnecting after about 5 mins of gameplay, he's tried restarting computer, internet, blah blah blah, and note i have gone to the WoW forums, no one has replied yet, so i'm sorry since this is an esf forum not a wow one.

Does he have a decent internet connection? Also, is the server in the US or in Europe?

He wouldn't of happened to of been killed by a PK shrouded in blue flames would he?

But sounds more like a router problem and less like a Tri-Edge problem...

Has he given out his password lately to anyone or has his friends noticed him online alot?

Basically, someone could have gotten his password and everytime he logs in the other guy logs in kicking him off.

Well, technically speaking it's known as firmware. And to get even more technical, basically you are just updating the router's drivers, much like your video or sound card. It's pretty simple, although I don't know how in-depth I have to get.

I've never used any other router than a Linksys router, so I don't know if this holds true for the other brands. But in a nutshell, identify the make and model number of the router. Go to the routers website and d/l the corresponding firmware (driver) update for your model number. Once that's done, access your router (usually through a web browser) and find out where the firmware update menu is (on Linksys, usually under the Administration tab). It'll ask for the update file, point it to where you d/l'ed onto your computer and hit the upgrade button. That simple :)
