Does anybody know a site for good, free sound effects? I’ve tried Google, but every site that says “free sound effects” always show me prices (those lying bastards).

OR. Google a program called “PSound”, insert a PS2 or PS1 disc in to your PC, and rip the sounds off the disc.

While sounddogs isn’t free, the previews for their sounds are. And freesound requires that you create an account before you can download their sounds.
If you’re looking for some good physical collision sounds or otherwise, and you own Half Life 2 or any of the expansions, you can use GCF Scape to open the sound GCF file, and in there will be all of the many material collision sounds that the Source Engine uses for it’s physics engine, as well as tons of different ambient sounds that I’ve found work perfectly in videos. Games are a great place to find sounds.
i agree with Jdude on this the water impact sounds from source would sound Epic on esf xD
