do you guys have any sponsors

This was a problem for Bid For Power (a Quake III Arena mod that once used DBZ material till it got hit with a cease and desist order, resulting in different characters along with attacks). Not only that, it was a common issue on BYOND where there were many DBZ games expecting donations and...

15-Year Anniversary Since First Public Release Thread

If anyone is curious what happened to my future planned recording, I thought I would inform y'all that quite a lot happened recently. One being a death in the family. My mother passed away two weeks ago and just had a funeral earlier this Tuesday. Plus, I'm still working out different...

Thought I would provide an update in reference to the ClassicVCom HD. I was able to optimize it to run on 1080p by changing some of the code (due to using the wrong methods that resulted in rather sub-optimal performance). It might even be capable of running at 2160p (though untested and will...

Looks like it might be a while before YouTube properly supports H.265/HEVC (which includes x265) since Google is still endorsing VP9 mainly (at present). As for the new anniversary videos, I haven't decided yet still when I'll host a server (I plan to do it over Tunngle for the time being)...

I'll look into using x265 for compressing videos made with OBS. I have experimented with x265 through Handbrake months ago and definitely decreases the size greatly. Only flaws I spotted right now deal with some quality loss issues (as x265 is still being matured). Once it greatly matures...

Alrighty, I finally got Alpha 2.0 Steam Compatible to work. It took modifying the 'fmod.dll' and replacing it with the Alpha 2.0 compatible release's 'fmod.dll'. Currently, I will host it while using Tunngle (to nicely simulate a LAN). Used to use Hamachi for that sort of thing years ago...

Sure thing. :D I'll see if I can host Alpha 1.5 (at least for the time being). Eventually, I'll do a recording for Alpha 2.0 (I could try looking into Alpha 1.8 or 1.9, though getting them to install is a problem these days).

Ah yes, good old esf_lake. I remember fighting on that map with my siblings (over LAN of course) back in 2001. And about the video, it seems to be I posted the video with way too high a bitrate (which caused the quality to deteriorate towards the end when it compressed it). Next time before I...

15-Year Anniversary Since First Public Release Thread

Finally got a 20 minute video of playing around in Alpha 1.5 (with some funny voice-over work, even if there were some mistakes on it): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gX8iUsStFtc (720p @ 60fps) It took a very long time to upload due to the fact I might've had the quality set way too high (it...

Yeah, I remember there were earlier releases than Alpha 1.5. Unfortunately, I have had no luck finding them even through the Wayback Machine.

We also still have our WON copy of Half-Life. Haven't played that copy in years (since 2006 I believe). I might boot it up since DragonMod Z screws up on Steam for whatever reason. :P

Fortunately, I was able to grab a copy from the Wayback Machine years ago and eventually put up a Dropbox link for Alpha 1.5. Link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/24250760/ESF/esf_alpha_105.exe

Indeed. Shame it went down (which was way before the cease and desist order that happened on DBZ games years later).

Older versions of Earth's Special Forces. Alpha 1.5 does work on Steam from my experience with it.

Yep, that thing. :P I haven't been as active on BYOND lately till just rather recent to try bringing more 3D support through WebGL (using the Webclient). I originally joined because of DBZ anyhow (Dragonball Zeta, the one game many used to know).
