how do i make my own avatar/sig?

well if u read the subject i think it pretty much explains what i need.....

you use a program like adobe photoshop or paint shop pro

or Microsoft paint

what i meant was.....some people under their names have a custom picture. I already have a picture,i jus wanna know how to put it under my name like everyone else.i dont want the avatars in the list they provide.i want to place MY pic in under my name. not sumthin like master roshi lol
