You can justify almost anything by saying, "THINK OF THE CHILDREN!" It's a bullshit idea that has done society tremendous harm.

That being said, Google is opt in to porn, as is Bing. No one seems to care too much about that, although I suppose that it makes this idea a bit more irrelevant. Also, I would like to think that only crazies think that watching porn makes you a deviant.

To me, there's a difference between a company or service meeting the needs and wants of their customers, and a government dictating what will and will not be done. If Google and bing were pressured into censorship, I'd be morally opposed to that as well.

Sounds like the begining of a police state if you ask me.

It's a nice start, but of course just blocking porn is not taking this far enough. We should also block websites about brewing and drinking alcohol. And about cigarettes. We don't want our kids to do any of those now do we? And about cars. too. We don't want our kids to drive our cars now do we? We should probably block anything related to coffee too. And fat food and candy. And anything related to the muslim faith should be blocked; we don't want our little ones to turn into terrorists now do we?

Actually the worst thing about this is if they can start with censoring this, then what can they censor next? And there goes the firestorm. Look at how nice it spreads...
Yep. It's leaving the definition of "porn" in the air and letting someone censor their own definition of obscenity. It's the precedents these things set that are awful.

Please, the day a country manages to successfully block internet pornography is the day I shave the hair on my head into a penis and throw mayonnaise at random passers-by.
I'd like to see that XD

Also yeah this is dumb. Parents should opt in, not the other way around. I'm an RN, I'm all for protecting the children. You know how you do that? Parenting. Not the lazy bullshit I see all the time. Being legitimately involved in your children's lives. I know parents are busy, but so were mine. They both worked and were busy adults. They found a way to live up to their responsibilities.

Knew they were evil the minute I found out that I had to go through a bunch of bollocks to unlock my phone so that I can insert different cards in it.

Well it only locked when I tried another card in it. Keep in mind that I owned 6 modern-ish phones and not one of them has done this, not until lucky number 7 here from Huawei that not only locked from that card but refused to unlock even for the one that it did like. Why lock a phone like this? Money-grubbing a-holes because this process is serves no other purpose, none whatsoever other than pissing your customer off... which it did. I really hope they weren't the ones that got the money after I paid for that unlock number to unlock it, the unlock thank god being permanent (again if it can unlock permanently why lock it in the first place? Imbeciles.)

Back on topic. Now they want to lock porn out. How nice :p

Oh and that card was from the same provider just in case you wanted to ask.

And if it is illegal then no one told the Chinese.

I especially love that sentence: "Please don't disregard us just because we are chinese!" No. I will disregard you because you're idiots. Regardless of race, gender, orientation etc...
