Why does it take that much money to make? Or even if you're exaggerating, is it because they have to pay Samuel?

I've only seen the first episode.

I second this notion...awesome ****ing anime.

Bobobo! That's got plenty of action and lasted 76 episodes. There's a fight or two every episode and it's pretty funny. Some people find it weird though.

Bleach is another you may like to try. Fiendishly long though.

If you liked Death Note, check out Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. Haven't actually seen it myself, but I hear it's really good.
