Apparently this particular bridge has to be closed because of this kind of thing. People started doing it for media attention and such, and the bridge is one of the highest traffic volume ones around. They've even had to outlaw it so jumpers who do not jump are charged with the crime.

It isn't an especially high fall, it looks more like a grab for attention than a suicide jump. I'd judge it as selfish, and dangerous. I think they're both jerks.
