Since I've got nothing to do, I'll give a reason why each one is on my list :D

1. Final Fantasy VII - Not to this day have I felt so involved with a games story line and characters
2. Ocarina of Time - A cliched but well well presented story with great puzzle and combat based gameplay
3. Ninja Gaiden - The fastest and deepest combat in any game I've played
4. God of War - An epic and beautifully told story with incredibly fun and varied gameplay
5. Halo - A near perfect blend of tactics and action along with many minor details make this one of my favourite fps games
6. Freedom Fighters - A great shooter that seems somewhat under rated. Fantastic squad based gameplay, a unique story line and large scale levels make it a great experience.
7. Half Life 2 - One of the few games that's absoloutely fun from beggining to end. The variety in the gameplay is something that no game has managed to achieve to this day.
8. Powerstone - Why the hell haven't more developers created beat em ups like this? Probably the most original fighting game I've played, fantastic in multiplayer.
9. Shenmue series - Very original, and despite the fact that on paper, the games sound very dull, the way it's put together makes for a very addictive and interesting game.
10. Jade Empire - Amazing story, interesting and well voiced characters and a beautiful setting make this one of my favourite RPG's.

I'm going to list the games as well as the reasons. Bear in mind, they're not in any sort of order...except for number one and two, maybe.

1.) Doom -- because it invented 3d engines, multiplayer gameplay, the first person shooter, and a million other great things that defined the direction of the gaming industry of today.
2.) Chronicles of Rid**** -- Literally one of the awesomest games I ever played.
3.) Final Fantasy III -- proof that epic storytelling has a place in videogames.
4.) Chrono Trigger -- Proof that role playing games don't have to have painfully boring battle systems and could be more creative with their gameplay
5.) Warcraft III -- The best most balanced RTS ever made
6.) Command & Conquer Generals -- Modern Warfare on a big enough scale to feel and play enjoyably
7.) World of Warcraft -- The only MMO that I don't yawn while playing, and also in general a model to future MMOs as far as combat/class systems go. (Incidentally, no Warcraft titles made IGN's top 100 at all...BS at its finest)
8.) Goldeneye -- For proving multiplayer shooters on a console can actually be fun when executed well
9.) Doom III -- Id once again sets a technological quality standard
10.) ESF -- proving that DBZ can be put into a game and not descend into utter craptacularity.

There are probably more but the big ones are all there; Doom, Warcraft, and ESF.

Alright, here's my ten fav games just off the top of my head. No real order.

1. Ocarina of Time
2. Super Smash Bros. Melee
3. Metal Gear Solid 1 or 3. (Can't decide which is better)
4. Ninja Gaiden (Soon to be replaced by Ninja Gaiden: Black)
5. Super Mario 64
6. King of Fighters '98/King of Fighters Dream Match '99 (That's the Dreamcast version)
7. Starcraft
8. Sonic Adventure 1/2 (I have just over 200 hours logged into SA2 somehow, and its a god damn friggin platforming game.
9. Dead Or Alive Ultimate (A total revamp of the greatest fighting game ever)
10. F-Zero GX (Blazing sense of speed, and and actual good AI on Master. I don't think I've ever had a funner moment in a game then when im blasting around the final few corners at 1500 km/h with the classic Big Blue music rocking in the backround as ALL 30 racers are within 0.5 seconds of each other battling for first place)
