Hi, I'm a long time player first time poster~
My thoughts on the game; I think it's a great adaptation from the T.V show, probably the best adaptation of a T.V show to a game I've seen, up there with Alien vs Predator and all the rest of those...
However after playing this on and off for several years, I have to say it doesn't really seem to be going anywhere.. And also that compared to many other half-life mods it slightly lacks a 'fun-factor' other mods have. This is not intended as a criticism, I think the game is awesome.
In this game it's almost 100% based on skill (Unless someone's beam spamming, though that too can be avoided most of the time), so unless you know your stuff you generally get ur a$$ handed to you, or you hand their a$$ to them.
The problem as I see it is that there's really no inbetween - that is; you're either better than them, or they're better than you. In the first case it's rather boring because you know if you mess them up too much they'll either quit, whinge, or resort to some lesser form of fighting (beam spamming) and I don't know about you, but I don't really like giving out free kills just so they can get their PL up.
In the latter case, the game becomes un-enjoyable; since they have more 'skill' than you or a better connection / computer / whatever it is that makes them better than you, you don't really get a chance to play, you just become a sack of meat that gets kicked around and blown up, if they go so far as to ascend as krillin or buu.. well then your best option is to /quit..
This is not so in other mods IE counter-strike, or even half-life where although it's largely based on skill, there is definately still that luck factor also (eg. lucky headshots etc etc) I just dont see it in ESF
Summing up; The game rocks don't get me wrong I love it long time, though quickly becomes tedious and often unenjoyable due to the factors mentioned above.
I'd be interested to hear everyone else's thoughts, feel free to put me in my place etc
