Yet another possible bug

On several occasions, I've been damaged to 0 health (or close to it because I saw no numberical display for it) and have still been alive. I have the feeling that I was at zero health because when I touched a wall, my view went to a sideways, first person view. I haven't been able to replicate it on my own, so I'm not exactly sure how it is caused, but I suppose it's worth looking into.

I don't think so.. This kind of thing doesn't show up in most mods. I'll check the Beta 2 source to see if I can spot anything in there.

when i was reading the forum i saw the above message.
I have come to that situation in only one way, I got to 1 health as a super saiyan (or powered up frieza) and then I lost my ki and went out of super saiyan.

That is very possible. After much digging through the SDK, it seems that damage isn't handled by a function in the SDK, but rather is something handled by the engine. This helps prove your theory of the problem. I still don't think it's a bug in the engine, but rather one in the ESF code.

You'd better dig around some more then :p Damage is handled in the SDK.

CS were like the old days where the mod was acctually FUN

style of Quake 2!!

You could jump and shoot the **** out of ppl.... good old days...
I miss all my clan buddies :\

So if they fixed it, doesn't that prove that it was a problem in the mod rather than in HL?

So I guess this means the problem is in your code. Now, would you rather we fix this or continue to blame it on the Half-Life engine?

Heh, i kinda missed this message. Thx, this was at least one (and i suspect the only one) of the 0-health probs. It's fixed now.

Great, glad to hear this. As I had said before, I couldn't replicate the problem, but I suspected that was the issue when he posted his findings.

I think it results from the hp changes that the super saiyan level makes. Since transforming is not considered a damage effect the reduction of hp to zero does not kill the person. I think that is where the problem lies.

Yes, that's been well established and repaired. Thank you for the input.
