yes my tutorial uses milkshape, all you need to skinmap is milkshape and paint, mt tut is very short, but i tried to word so youd figure out the rest of it by yourself using waht i showed ya
told you.. use Lithunwrap.. its WAY superior and free. (use google to search it. the official site is down cause the creater made a new program which is NOT free. so search for a old link)
I'll leave this up until the question is answered in such a way that he can follow it, then I'll shut it down, or boot it over to the Help section. This really isn't the place to put your questions though. You should ask questions in the all purpous tutorials thread.
here is one thing read nuttzy's tut and i mean read not look at the pics!>_< it tells u all u need to no in his tut (i read it once now i can skin map good!)>_<
just read it and if u still dont understand get the thing D.C was talking about
first load the model.. then go to tools > UV mapping and unmap.
place the faces it places wrong in the right place. (just drag)
example.. hide everything exept the head faces.. now place the faces in a "head" position.. save the model. hide the head faces.. unhide another group and place those in a nice to skin form on the map.
now when you are done unhide one at a time and go through em all.. make a bitmap of each one which you can color in later.
pick one.. its like you need to unfold the model.
these do it automaticly.. best pic the cylinder for example for a head (most of the times).
picking the right UV for the right part of the body means a more perfect unfold. (to 2D so you can skin it)
cause anything unfolded wrong you gotta do manually.
