I installed esf20 at an earlier date and after some trouble, I got it to work. I recently let a friend dowload the install file off my computer. I noticed he had more special attacks than I, even though it came from the same install file (from what I now understand, this may be because I had Akimbot installed and he did not). Confused by this at the time, I reinstalled but the program ran the same. I tried this multiple times, varying the installation of the mp3's (the only difference between my friend and myself I could think of at the time). Up until this point, everything still worked fine. Then I deleted the esforces folder from my HL directory for a clean install. That's when the real trouble started. The following is a list of my system, the problem, and the actions I have used in attempt to fix it. If anyone has a suggestion (preferably of something I haven't tried yet) I would greatly appreciate it.

System:

AMD K-2 366MHz
Windows 2000 os
VooDoo 3 Video Card
Curently running 800x600, OpenGL
Turtle Beach Montego Bay sound card
Currently running no a3d or eax support
Akimbot not currently installed

Problem:

When creating a server, the black "Loading" screen flashes up, then halflife quits to the desktop. There are no error messages, no prompts. It is as if I typed "quit" in the console. The console screen with Goku and Majin Vegita never has a chance to come up.

Attempt: Reinstall esf20, both with and without mp3's
Result: No change

Attempt: Make sure fmod.dll is properly intalled
Result: Both HL and winnt have the new version of fmod.dll; no change

Attempt: Make sure hl is running current version
Result: Reinstalled 1108.exe, installed esf again; no change

Did you delete your ESF folder or Uninstall it? You should have uninstalled it. Try reinstalling, again, with a newly downloaded ESF 2.0 installer/zip. It sounds like you have one hella problem.
