I wonder. Will there be cel shading (outlines) to design like a cartoon? DMZ's first project did it before.

Cell shading creates alot of excess polygons . . . it's poor on performance. ESF's Models have between 900-1300 polys . . . any more and the low end PC's will be hurting.

I'm happy with how it looks now. I don't think it'd be right to give it cel shading. Yes, it is a cartoon, but the way it looks now is cartoonish enough. I think cel shading would make the game seem TOO cartoony.

I believe that is ZOE 1/2. That game (well atleast the first one) was full of eyecandy.

That nice robot pic is from Zone of the Enders for the PS2.

Cel shading looks like crap sometimes... and sometimes you have to actually be in a type of mindset to believe that what you're seeing is an attempt at putting a cartoon onto a video game. Kinda like focusing on those weird 3-D puzzle pictures. But when you stop thinking in that polygon kind of way, you get what REALLY looks like a cartoon, that you can play. When I first saw Jet Set Radio Future I thought it looked kinda stupid, then I just stopped thinkin about it and it looked like a real cartoon.

Maybe I'm just psychotic.

Ne way this game looks fine w/o shading, not like there's gonna be any anyway

Isn't it really hard to get celshading with the HL engine in the 1st place? The engine is totally based on 3d.

Nice pic btw. Too bad I don't have a ps2 :(
